Stone Lake Surveys Ltd. is an experienced, client-focused provider of geographic information systems (GIS), pipeline locating, advancing- line pushing/field mapping and seismic surveying services in the Sahtu region of the Northwest Territories. We have strong relationships with companies active in the Tulita district, and since 2004 have provided all of the 2D and 3D seismic surveying conducted in the 280,000-square-kilometre Sahtu region as well as surrounding areas. Early in 2013, Stone Lake was pleased to offer its online mapping and information management system, TriliGIS , to enhance the company’s 3D laser scanning services.

Based in Tulita, a hamlet of about 500 inhabitants lying amidst the new Canol Formation oil shale play in the greater Norman Wells region, Stone Lake is strategically positioned to serve its clients. The Stone Lake joint venture is led by Jimmy Mendo. Bringing a wealth of knowledge of the region, its inhabitants and its local businesses, Jimmy interacts with clients at Stone Lake's regional office and the client's corporate and field offices. He also assists in managing field operations.
